I am a writer living in Indiana. I used to like to do lots of things, but now I write stories instead. The first story I ever wrote was called, “The Bad Boot.” It was about a princess and a bad boot. She gave the boot some carrots and then he wasn’t so bad anymore. I am currently working on stories involving antlers, wendigos, marzipan, paper boats, time travel, picture orchards, tangos, and the Panama canal.
I attended Clarion West in 2011, and I’m currently working on The Pony Novel.

Gabriel (& Christal), Glad this catches your fancy. Unfortunately, those elements aren’t all going to be in the same story. Although, now that you mention it, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea!

Hello back! I’m having a busy day (gosh, is my mailbox full!) but I have every intention of dropping by all of my FP’d cohort. See you at your place soon.

Thank you for visiting my blogs and commenting, and congrats on being Freshly Pressed!
I loved the story about your feisty grandmother, and my husband and I have a very similar apron that belonged to his grandmother. He liked seeing the pictures of yours.
Ever since seeing the film Ravenous I have been way too interested in wendigo stories. I’m really interested in reading yours when you finish it!

I wish I knew more about dates & fabric patterns. The apron has to be from the mid-70s or earlier, but it doesn’t strike me as particularly evocative of one time period (no psychedelic flowers, for example). I haven’t heard of Ravenous, will go look it up. My wendigo visits some soldiers during the Civil War.

Thanks. Unfortunately not, right now it’s platinum. But! That is like having a blank piece of paper to color however I want.
